Our Campus is proud to announce Gracy Plathottathil, RN, in the Roger and Debbie Clemens Wing (RCW), as recipient of the DAISY Award, which recognizes one nurse each month for going above and beyond to deliver exceptional patient care. The designation, presented in collaboration with the American Organization of Nurse Executives, is part of the DAISY Foundation’s national program to recognize nurses who serve as role models to colleagues throughout the profession.

“I’m so surprised and humbled to be honored with the DAISY Award,” said Plathottathil. “It’s a great feeling to know that I was able to make a difference for a family during their stay with us.”

On the nomination card, a patient’s family wrote, “Gracy is very compassionate. There was a miscommunication with certain procedures and we were frustrated, but she always was patient and willing to go above and beyond to help us. Those are the reasons we come back to this hospital – even when we moved more than 300 miles away – because of the service and nurses like Gracy. And Gracy made our baby feel happy!”
