I have had the opportunity to work with Grant through some difficult situations in which he demonstrated his excellence in nursing, compassion for our patients and families, and reverence for all that we do. While preparing to transfer a critically ill patient to the OR, Grant was able to answer questions from distraught family members. He was also thinking forward to the needs of the OR and prepared the patient for such needs.
In an instance where working as a team member with others during a critical time for a patient, Grant demonstrated accountability for his actions in care and effectively communicated with the team. While possessing the SCL value of Good Humor, Grant also inspires others to use all their gifts and talents.
Most recently I worked with Grant in the ED with a medical alert that ended in death. Grant provided the best clinical care and much reverence to the deceased and her family. Grant has expressed a "Yes I Can" attitude with regard to furthering this education especially his current courses of study.
