The thing I liked the best about Grant is that he made my sister and I (and my Dad) a part of his care team.
My sister and I are both healthcare professionals and we started out by pummeling Grant with 50,000 questions. He taught us a lot about strokes and what was going on with my Dad after three strokes as well as what we would face along the journey of his recovery. My Dad has been on a rapid decline of health over the past six months, so he came with a lot of wounds (surgical, PAD, neuropathic and a pressure injury on his heel). When Grant found out I was a wound care nurse and how concerned we were about infection control and wounds, he pulled out all the stops to ensure my Dad was given the excellent care he deserves which included dressing changes for the multiple wounds, finding a prophylactic foam dressing that I asked for, turning often, and floating his heels.
The thing I liked the best about Grant is that he made my sister and I (and my Dad) a part of his care team, addressing every concern, answer questions, finding the answers and communicating with others on the team as soon as added health issues/concerns came up. Every time my Dad is hospitalized, I pray for the best, most caring nurses, and this time we were so blessed!
