I want to recognize Grayson Goodwin for going above and beyond the call of duty. I was completing a swallow study at a patient's bedside using a fiberoptic camera. During the course of the exam, I realized that the patient's airway was abnormally swollen and small. I was concerned about an airway emergency. When I called for Grayson she immediately responded to the bedside. She assessed the patient and then sought out an ear nose throat doctor on the unit. Using the camera equipment at bedside, the ENT physician was able to make an immediate diagnosis of Reinke's edema and consulted with his attending regarding the best treatment. Grayson's quick actions improved the quality and timeliness of our patient's care. Grayson is always collegial, polite, and strives for the best care for all of her patients.
