Mr. H called me to let me know how professional and responsive Greg Smith was to his needs. He proceeded to tell me that he requested to speak with a manager about some care concerns. Within a short time, Greg was at his door willing to give a listening ear. After that conversation, Greg addressed all of his concerns, except the lost clothing and shoes. Greg took it upon himself to personally go downstairs to volunteer services to see if he could get some replacements. He was able to get clothes, but the shoes were an issue. The patient needed a size 13 and was pending discharge at this point. Greg went downstairs to our store and selected a very nice pair of size 13 gym shoes. He choose gym shoes because he wanted to make sure the patient had a good pair of shoes and he was afraid the patient might fall if he had cheap flip-flops. Greg bought the shoes and clothes for the patient and he was so thankful. The patient said, "He has never had anyone buy him such a nice pair of shoes or go out of their way like that." He proceeded to tell me that he "will think of the kindness extended to him with every step he takes."
