Greg Miller is the epitome of compassion in the profession of nursing. Working alongside Greg for many years, I have been able to witness many instances of his extraordinary care that he projects and provides to patients. I simply cannot say enough about the quality of care he provides to patients on a daily basis. Being at a smaller, community hospital, Greg plays many different roles but being a patient advocate is always of utmost importance. Throughout the hospital, Greg is known as a person of honesty and integrity. Greg is known for accountability and teamwork. Greg is known as trustworthy and reliable. Undoubtedly, I know that patients under his direct care use these same words to describe his character. Most importantly, patients who are not under his direct care are still more that thankful for his caring ways.
Recently, Greg noticed safety issues surrounding a patient's care. Greg gathered his own tools and improvised as needed to fix a patient's home walker, as it was not exactly safe for use. It should be noted that this patient was not under his direct care, but she certainly expressed her gratitude, as did I for his thoughtfulness, care, and skills. He is always on the lookout for areas of needed assistance to others. Greg has also been known to bring books and other reading materials to patients. These actions will occur on his days off. He just recognizes the needs and acts. We are certainly thankful to have Greg as part of our Vidant Beaufort team! We are thankful for the caring profession that brings his outstanding skills to our community.
