Gretchen has been the President of our Unit Practice Council since its inception in early 2018. She encourages the MST team to promote positive changes and improve both clinical outcomes and the work environment. In addition, during Executive and Nurse Leader rounds, Gretchen frequently receives high regards from her patients for her exceptional bedside manner and ability to make her patients feel like "they are her only patient despite having full patient assignments". Recently, our President and CEO John Hicks wrote, "How come every time I do patient rounds, I hear about you? I know, because you are so awesome! You are so positive, happy, and attentive of patients, they just can't get enough of you. We are so blessed to have you here, thanks for always bringing your best to work and making such a difference in peoples' lives." Our Press Ganey survey comments also highlight Gretchen's clinical care, "Love Gretchen!! Best nurse on that floor by a mile and I have had two month stays." Gretchen takes pride in her work, goes the extra mile for our department and our patients and is a true DAISY Nurse.
