Gretchen has truly been a shining star as well as my DAISY. She treated me as if she was my own personal wound care nurse. We met the morning following my admission. When she applied my first wound vac dressing, her goal for my care was quickly identified; to get the gaping hole over my spine to the point where I would not need a wound vac by the time of my discharge. I have already had a wound vac in place for the past 3 months Gretchen made sure all the bases were covered often consulting with the hospitalist to the surgeons it was at this point that sufficient healing was identified and plastic surgery was consulted and the decision was made to have the surgery to completely close my back wound prior to my discharge.

Gretchen's caring manner was evident every time. She would apply anti-itch cream to my back following each dressing change. She saved me from an additional hospitalization for closure of my back to say nothing of exceeding the goals set early in my 5 week stay. Gretchen gives her all to every patient she treats, and I am just happy I was lucky enough to have her on my care team.
