Gretchen took bold, courageous steps to save the life of a patient who suddenly stopped breathing and no physician was readily available. Her quick thinking and clinical actions restored the patient's airway and oxygenation. She then made sure the patient was fully monitored and stable. She saved this patient's life. I was extremely impressed with her clinical acumen and proactive care plan. In my opinion, these actions rise to the level of heroic.
