My husband, a Hillman Cancer Center patient has had an incredibly rough November and so far, December is not shaping up to be any better. We have encountered Gretchen on two of our most recent ER excursions and her bubbly and kind persona has really made a positive impact on our otherwise stressful visits. Gretchen stands out to us for several reasons. Her smiling face and friendly and funny demeanor immediately put us at ease. Gretchen really takes time to listen to my husband who, as a newbie to this whole cancer patient role, has many fears and questions that Gretchen patiently and confidently answered. Not only did she take the very best care of my husband, but she took the very best care of me too! During a lengthy procedure, Gretchen found a stretcher, pillow, and blanket for me so that this sleep-deprived, stressed out caregiver could catch a small nap. My husband and I cannot say enough kind words about Gretchen, she has truly been an angel.
