Gretchen is incredibly passionate about patient care in all clinical aspects, but is also quick to state her love for the field of nursing and is always striving for better, safer, and more efficient nursing workflows.

She uses her keen clinical acumen to seek to understand nursing's biggest challenges and then works in a multidisciplinary way within BD to find solutions to fill those gaps. Working to find Key Opinion Leaders who are experts on the issues that plague healthcare to bring both education and solutioning ideas to help BD help our customers with their needs.

Gretchen recently went above and beyond to find a key opinion leader in an obscure discipline to help eloquently deliver information on a disease state that educated both internal BD associates as well as our customers. This KOL is wonderful to work with, valued by our customers and is a wealth of information to all who have the pleasure of working with them. The nominee makes this daunting task of finding quality KOLs easy, when it is far from easy. She is always going the extra mile for us, the customer and ultimately it benefits patient care.

She is a strong advocate for patient care as well as the nursing process. Her desire to educate the bedside nurse on the topics that they care most about is a passion that drives her every single day. Searching to understand the current issues, connecting the issues to solutions and then finding experts to educate us all is her specialty, and it is all for the bedside nurse who then shares that information and learning with their patients who benefit from safer, timely care.

Gretchen works in an interdisciplinary, cross-functional manner daily. Sharing KOLs with other BUs as well as other MDS Regions is something she is known for and sought out on a constant basis.

She is always forward thinking, having dialogues with sales, clinical and marketing to understand what innovation is coming down the pike, who are the key opinion leaders in the space, and how quickly she can get them on contract to start to share their knowledge with us is something she prides herself on!

Gretchen not only "does what is right" and "helps others be great", she truly lives the core value of "Advancing the world of health" by connecting the dots for several of our teams to bring needed education internally and externally to help our customers at the bedside.

She is also very involved in her community with volunteerism and even saved the life of a veteran when he went into cardiac arrest in front of her!
