Gretchen was my husband’s nurse for the past 15 months. During this time, she was the most compassionate, caring, helpful, knowledgeable, understanding, and comforting person to be with us during this time. Her loving care helped us through this heart-breaking transition to death with J, me, and my family. We learned so much from her explanations of what all was happening as we did not know what to expect. I know by watching J’s expressions that he was happy to see her during her many visits. Our family enjoyed it when she was around because we knew he was in great care. Gretchen always goes beyond what she is called to do.
