When the doctor came to see my dad on the floor and told us he needed to go to the ICU, we were very scared. When my dad arrived in the ICU he was very sick and was having difficulty breathing. Upon our arrival to the ICU we were blessed to have Grethel Davis as his nurse for four of the days my dad was in the unit. Grethel was kind and compassionate. Her communication with us was amazing; she explained everything to us in a fashion that we understood. She did not hesitate to speak with the physicians when my father's condition was changing. She made sure my sister and I were okay. As she rounded on my dad and she rounded on us.
Grethel has a genuine love of nursing, it is evident in every single thing that she did for my dad. This medical center is truly blessed to have a nurse like Grethel. Knowing that she was there with my dad brought a profound comfort to my family.
