Grethel has been working at SBMC in ICU for many years now; however, I came to know her about 2 years ago when I was hired in the ICU. She is an excellent nurse who is straightforward, compassionate, and very knowledgeable. I learn something new from her every day and appreciate her easygoing and approachable nature. She is currently in a graduate program to become a nurse practitioner and is always willing to answer any question and teach/review nursing skills with everyone.
Grethel was one of my preceptors during my orientation in ICU and watching her be a strong advocate for her patients, I gained strength and learned to provide effective communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary teams for better patient care and outcomes. She is an asset for ICU and a great resource person for many new nurses like me. I appreciate her and am thankful to her for always helping and being nice to me.
