Grisel Fernandez-Bravo, Chief Nursing Officer of Memorial Hospital West is a leader who believes in the power of the nurse. In 2014, Grisel, a "nurses'-nurse", noted that the caring practice of nurses changed the entire hospital experience. Under Grisel's leadership, Memorial Hospital West joined the DAISY Foundation in 2014. Memorial Hospital West recognizes nominated nurses and the nurse award on a monthly basis. Patients, doctors, co-workers, peers write nominations about the kindness that they receive from their nurse. Today, as Grisel is promoted to Chief Executive Officer to a sister hospital, Memorial Hospital Miramar, Grisel is being honored by the entire Memorial Hospital West Professional Nursing Staff as a true DAISY NURSE.
