I just had my 3rd child and the entire labor couldn't have been a more stressful situation. I was admitted weeks before delivery with high blood pressure. It was decided I would need to have an emergency C-section. I'd had normal deliveries up until that moment and I was petrified. Knowing I was frightened, Gwen expressed sympathy, gave me reassurance and countless positive stories, and even made me crack a smile. I could hear her throughout saying I was doing great. I firmly believe had she not been present, I would've had an all-out meltdown.
