Although the days are busy and the workload is always growing, there are still those special moments when a nurse says or does something and you know she has made a difference in someone's life. This is Gwen Thompson, RN at Dr. Benson's office. You never see her without a smile on her face and a willingness to help. How does she shine? She is a shining example through word, deed, and attitude. For example, Gwen did not hesitate to volunteer for the Medical Mission at Home. Gwen could have chosen any job, but she chose to wash the feet of the homeless. Gwen is captured in action on the video of the event washing feet, listening, hugging, and wiping the tears away from a person off the street. Jesus taught us the lesson of selfless service by washing the feet of his disciplines, serving others God's way imposes no conditions and expects no rewards. What humility and selfless service Gwen has demonstrated in following this example of Jesus. She gave of herself expecting nothing in return. This is a shining star and a DAISY Nurse.
