My mother has late stage Alzheimer's and she fell and broke her hip. When Gwenda came on shift, she came into Mom's room and asked me to tell her about my Mom. I gave Gwenda Mom's medical information. Then Gwenda asked me to tell her who Mom was before she was an Alzheimer's patient. Mom has had Alzheimer's for close to 20 years. The last 6-8 years, my role of daughter has changed to the role of caregiver. Gwenda's question brought back a flood of memories of who Mom really is and I thank Gwenda for that! The compassion Gwenda showed to my mom, my dad, my sister and I that day was incredible. Thank you, Gwenda!
