Gwen began her career at Rochester General Hospital in 1974 as a new graduate nurse and has since devoted over 52 years to clinical practice, education, and leadership within the organization. Throughout her career, she has continuously advanced her education and demonstrated a sustained commitment to promoting a positive image of professional nursing.
A passionate advocate for professional development, Gwen has played an instrumental role in mentoring and developing the next generation of nurses. She actively contributes to the Emergency Nurse Fellowship Program and is a dedicated facilitator within the Nurse Residency Program, where she supports new nurses in successfully transitioning into practice. Her consistent involvement in continuing education and knowledge sharing reflects her personal commitment to lifelong learning and the growth of others in the profession.
Gwen serves as an extraordinary role model and advocate for nursing practice. She has been deeply engaged in Rochester General Hospital’s Magnet journey since its inception in 2004, demonstrating a strong commitment to shared governance and quality outcomes. Her presence in the Emergency Department is a constant source of clinical expertise, guidance, and reassurance. She is widely recognized for her accessibility, willingness to support others, and her ability to provide thoughtful, expert answers in even the most complex situations.
