Our daughter has spent about a week in the hospital. She came in with severe respiratory issues. She ended up getting diagnosed with rhinovirus and RSV. That was scary and not at all fun.
Haayoung is an outstanding nurse. The quality of care and attention to our daugher was amazing. She always answered questions and took the time to help us understand what was going on. That helped ease a terrifying situation.
Beyond the technical skills, Haayoung has the best bedside manner we've seen. My daughter learned to be wary of the yellow gowns and shied away from almost every nurse and doctor. But, when Haayoung came in the room she perked up and fussed less. Be it suction, NG feeds, IV checks, or vitals, Haayoung was the one nurse to whom my daughter consistently responded positively.
Maybe the best story I can share of how awesome Haayoung is was the time she took my daughter from me. I was really tired and couldn't get her calmed down. Haayoung looked at me and asked if she could have a shot. Within moments of holding and cooing at my daughter, she relaxed. She is really, really good at her job and she went well above and beyond the other great nurses here at Children's. She is amazing and we were fortunate to be in her care.
