I would like to thank Kemi for going out of her way to meet the needs of a dying patient. A few weeks back, I was off and Kemi called me to ask if our chaplain would perform marriages. She was in charge that day and the patient's wish was to be married. The patient endured chemo and was now on palliative hospice care. Her prognosis was very poor. Kemi contacted the patient's family and chaplain, etc. to make her wish come true. Arrangements were made and Kemi helped make flower arrangements from Christmas supplies we had on the unit. The patient received a ceremony and passed the next day. Kemi's act of kindness not only touched this patient, but it also touched her family and it touched our staff.
