She was the light we needed through a very dark period in our lives.
My daughter is still in the ICU but when she went into a fast decline, Habiba took up the charge and helped us both through a very scary and difficult time. We are still not out of the woods as my daughter's situation is very complex. She has ASD and I have anxiety. Habiba has been a source of positivity and hope that we needed to get through these tough days. I remember just before my daughter's operation, she helped to calm me down and make me feel that my daughter was well cared for. I saw her take up the charge and advocate for her which helped me breathe. There was nothing she didn't address. I have virtually no family support, but Habiba's care made it possible for me to think clearly on that big day and even going forward. Just after the operation when my daughter wasn't stable and I was afraid, Habiba explained the ICU and helped me understand how it works as it was all new to me. She educated my daughter and me on the VAD. She really took the time to explain how it worked and answered all my questions. She always checked in to see how we were doing.

I know for a fact my daughter thrives under her care and would benefit from having her every day...if only we could clone her! She's truly exceptional! What Habiba has cannot be taught, but she should train other nurses, and they need to try to emulate her. She has strong skills, is detail-oriented, and very organized. She provided the proper routine and structure my daughter needed to help her cope being in the ICU for a long period of time. She helped me feel comfortable taking care of my other children with special needs at home, knowing that my daughter would be safe.

I wish I could properly explain all that Habiba has done for my daughter and me...she was the light we needed through a very dark period in our lives. Someone needs to observe how remarkable she is and use her as a benchmark for other nurses to practice. It really makes a difference in recovery and even family support. I find when she is not in, it's just not the same. I have my own health struggles and have great respect for all nurses and medical staff that save and sustain lives. Habiba is a world-class nurse that delivers a high standard of care. Thank you for having such an excellent nurse as part of the VAD time in the CCU. She is brilliant!
