This excellent Nurse provided compassionate care for a homeless gentleman who came disheveled and stray. Although at our facility (especially the Emergency Department) we all can become jaded or frustrated with the homeless/underserved population. This Nurse went out of her way to provide a shower and a small meal for the patient after he was being discharged. The patient himself was moved to tears due to the hot meal and shower. This act of kindness and humanity may have been the most heartfelt and appreciated act I have seen for a patient in a long time.
