I came into the ER at 4:30 PM. My heart rate was elevated to 185 BPM at the doctor's office and 130-150 BPM at the hospital. I also had a temp and severe body aches. I was instantly relieved when I saw Hailey Tofflemoyer. I knew she was going to be great. Hailey was my ER Nurse. I am the type of patient who needs constant reassurance, and I need to be told exactly what is happening. I have a diagnosed anxiety disorder, so my anxiety was fight/flight this night. Hailey answered all of my questions about my care with a calm, positive, and caring attitude. Her obvious goal was to keep me as comfortable and calm as possible.

Throughout my stay, I was able to connect with her in a way I have not been able to with other nurses/doctors. Her smile and positive attitude helped keep me calm through an IV, multiple blood draws, heart monitoring, and testing. She offered ice water, ice chips, ice packs, a blanket, food, and they even held my hand when I needed them to. When the nurses changed shifts, I became very anxious and began to panic. She took time out of her life to stay with me until I was discharged. Nurse Hailey is amazing!
