Hailu went to the closest shop around the facility and bought me a mini handheld fan, and told me I could take it home whenever I got discharged.
In October 2020, A stent was placed in my vein for my blood clot, in which I was admitted into the ICU at Abbot Northwestern Hospital. My first encounter with Hailu was when he came into my room to introduce himself. Hailu not only had the passion as a nurse but also made sure that I understood what was happening and made sure my comfort came first. I remember after my second surgery, he noticed my discomfort as the medication wore off. I asked if the hospital had a fan I could use to calm me down, but unfortunately, they did not.

Hailu went to the closest shop around the facility and bought me a mini handheld fan, and told me I could take it home whenever I got discharged. I was extremely grateful, as I had never experienced this kind of act from a total stranger. Whenever I went in for a procedure, Hailu would assure my mother that I was in good hands and even go above and beyond by showing her an animation of my procedure that he would find on YouTube, which made her calm and rested during my stay. Hailu went above and beyond for me during one of the scariest times of my life.
