Haleigh St Martin, RN

Haleigh cared for a patient in the CCU who was very ill and had a young child at home. Despite the challenge of the patient being non English speaking, Haleigh made a close connection and was able to determine that the patient was a newer mother that didn't have much.

During their conversations, the patient stated she needed resources for clothing for her and her children, as she had recently immigrated to the United States, and asked if we could connect her with someone to help with that. Haleigh took it upon herself to gather clothing from her home to bring back and provide for the patient to take home to her daughter.

In conversation, the patient raved that seeing someone so kind to a patient in her situation made her feel cared for in more ways than just medicine. She was very appreciative of Haleigh's act of kindness and compassion.
