I am writing to enthusiastically nominate Hailey from the Heart and Vascular ICU for a DAISY Award in recognition of the exceptional, compassionate care she provided to my mother. My mother underwent surgery and had a pacemaker installed. During this stay, when Hailey was on shift, she was consistently kind, gentle, and reassuring. Two examples stand out. First, Hailey noticed and honored Mom’s religious beliefs, offering to pray with her. That small act meant so much emotionally. Second, when my mother became extremely depressed while hospitalized, Hailey recognized the seriousness of her emotional state and advocated for mental health support. Because of Hailey’s prompt attention, my mom was able to speak with a therapist and received the help she needed to begin recovering emotionally as well as physically. Hailey’s compassion, calm presence, and clinical awareness were key to my mother’s recovery and to our family's peace of mind. We deeply appreciate her and hope you will recognize her with the DAISY Award.
