She has helped me gain the confidence I need to do this at home.
My stay at Denver Health was not the traditional stay in Pavilion C. My sister is incarcerated and gave birth to a NAS (Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome) baby boy. She named me as his guardian and adjusting to such a huge change and responsibility has been overwhelming, to say the least. The team on the 4th floor is absolutely amazing! And even that is an understatement. And though all of my nurses were so amazing, Haley shines a little brighter. I understand how busy RNs can be – often rushing in and out of rooms. Even so, Haley never made me feel that way. Her attention to detail, her bedside manner, and most importantly her love for her work and the babies she helps, sets her apart. She made the most of the time spent in the room. Not only checking and helping the baby, but also making sure I was ok and not in your typical/standard way, even taking the time to educate me, showing compassion, and reassuring me that I can do this. She has helped me gain the confidence I need to do this at home. I wish I could do more to say thank you to Haley. She is a true DAISY Nurse.
