Haley is the prime example of what it looks like to give compassionate care to her patients and families. Her passion, kind spirit, and intentionality with the care she provides are easily noticed and are just some of the traits that she exhibited to go above and beyond in an impossible situation.

On the way home from visiting her family in Northern Arkansas, Haley witnessed a horrific car accident with multiple casualties. The setting was on a highway in a rural part of Missouri. Haley was the first on the scene and immediately took action to provide care in a situation that would seem to only worsen. The badly damaged cars held several deceased individuals and some in need of life-saving treatment. As the cars came ablaze, she acted quickly, overcoming concerns for her own safety, to move each individual away from the danger. She then initiated lifesaving interventions and continued to provide care until EMS arrived 15-20 minutes later.

She witnessed death in a traumatic way but through her actions was able to provide someone with a chance for more life. While she is a great nurse every day, on this day her heroic efforts of bravery, determination, and selflessness saved a life.
