Haley Rasmussen, RN

A patient nominated Haley. The nomination read: “Everyone who helped me at the hospital was kind, courteous, and caring, but one nurse stood out above all of them, and that was Haley. I was in considerable pain. This affected me in multiple ways. There were times I was angry, agitated, depressed and anxious. Haley always did the right thing to help. She allowed me to squeeze her hand, guided me through the spasms, and kept telling me, “We’ll get through this together.” She always told me she understood and then said something to make me laugh to distract me. She would pat my hand and ask me to tell her about my sons. That was a perfect remedy to get me out of a funk. She knew how to distract me by just talking to me. She told me about her child, where she grew up and what her hobbies were. Then she would ask me to tell her about myself. To top it all off, Haley wasn’t putting on an act. She was genuine. She genuinely cared about how I was feeling, about my kids and about my life story. She was my angel in the hospital. I am extremely grateful for her and I know that I was blessed to have her as my nurse.”
