Halle is a very loving and caring nurse who goes above and beyond for her patients every day. A few months back, there was an MRDD patient who was scared and lonely, so she bought him a stuffed animal from the gift shop. This made the patient so happy and their stay so much better. This sparked an idea in Halle. She gathered all the stuffed animals she had at home, cleaned them, and placed collars on them with tags that said "I'm here to keep you company during your stay. From: Your friends on 4 main OBS". She brought them in for any patient who needed a companion while in the hospital.
Recently, there was a cancer patient under Halle's care who signed on with hospice. Halle gave her one of these stuffed animals and the patient lit up with joy and held on to it the entire time. The patient was eventually transferred to the cancer unit and we were all sad when she left but she said that it was ok because she had her friend to keep her company that her sweet nurse, Halle gave her. This is just one of many examples of how Halle goes above and beyond for her patients and makes true, heartfelt connections with them.
