Halyna has been integral in supporting the culture of safety within the OR. She is always supportive of her team, if there is an issue or a concern, she assesses and escalates, we know our voice will be heard and our questions will be answered.
Halyna is an exceptional Clinical nurse in the CCH OR. As an experienced and autonomous perioperative nurse, Halyna always puts her patients' safety and needs first, by respectfully communicating and collaborating with the interprofessional healthcare team. She serves as a leader within the unit and is a true example of a dedicated professional nurse. She is committed to the patient experience, her team, the practice environment, and the strategic goals of the organization. As a senior staff nurse within the unit, she takes on the role of charge nurse. She coordinates with the team to ensure safe and efficient operational flow. Consistently communicated with her partners and provided support.
In addition, she also is known for her passion to precept and facilitate learning using a creative, collaborative approach. Halyna ensures to create a positive learning environment in which the newly hired team members can expand his/her knowledge and skills to successfully integrate into the practice environment while upholding our practice standards. Halyna has been integral in supporting the culture of safety within the OR. In addition, Halyna always emphasizes, when in doubt, talk it out. It is this genuine support that has truly ensured that all of our team members feel they can speak up and feel supported. For example, if there is a missed count within the operating room, I know Halyna will escalate and be one of the first to come into the room to provide support!
Finally, Halyna is continuously supporting the NYP’s strategic initiatives, demonstrating elements from the Professional Practice Model and the role of the NYP Respect Credo. Halyna’s humbling vow to constantly advocate for her patients is well known. Halyna is always an operating room unit council member and is a preference card champion. I am thankful to have Halyna as a team member, as her calm, kind, and respectful manner improves our practice environment as well as our team. Halyna is an exceptional nurse. I am proud to be her teammate.
