Hamaza created a shape like a clock; this shape is made from aluminum plates and some wooden sticks. This shape facilitated the patient to communicate with the staff by marking the letters he chose.
Hamaza helped a patient in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in an unusual way. The patient was connected to the mechanical ventilator. The physician decided to disconnect the ventilator from the patient due to the improvement in his vital signs.
Hamaza by his intelligence and wisdom was able to notice that the patient wanted to communicate with him, but the ventilator impedes him from speaking. Moreover, his weak muscles preventing him from writing and thus transmitting his message.
Hamaza created a shape like a clock; this shape is made from aluminum plates and some wooden sticks. This shape facilitated the patient to communicate with the staff by marking the letters he chose.
Indeed, Hamaza's idea succeeded. The patient expressed his unwillingness to remove the mechanical ventilator yet. Hamaza conveyed the patient's message to the specialist physician, who respected the patient's desire and considered his readiness to be essential to remove the ventilator.
Hamaza communicated with the patient continuously until the patient informed Hamaza that he was ready to remove the ventilator if the physician agreed. So, the ventilator was removed without any problems or complications, and thus the patient's life was preserved, and his desire was respected, which sometimes is more essential than all vital signs.
Hamaza is a DAISY Nurse because he is a creative and intelligent person who treats his patients with humanity, respect, and compassion.
