Then Nurse Hamda put her hand on my shoulder and said, "You are a strong mother. You love your children very much, and you will do anything to stay strong and close to them."
I had the necessary blood tests and a bone marrow biopsy done at the hospital, and I did not know the results of the tests. The doctor asked me to repeat the biopsy because it revealed the appearance of cancer cells at a rate of 65%. She could not tell me so as not to affect my psychological state and to make sure more about the accuracy of the tests and set the closest appointment for me to repeat the biopsy and increase the platelets. I was hesitant to repeat the biopsy because it is painful and I did not want to repeat the experience. On the day of the appointment, Nurse Hamda came in with a smile and a cheerful face and said to me, "Can I help you? I am your sister, the nurse." I replied yes, of course; she asked me why I did not want to repeat the biopsy. She asked if I was afraid of the pain or afraid of the results of the biopsy. I told her that I am a stubborn person and I do not want to repeat the biopsy experience, and I have a background of diseases whose symptoms appear on my body.
Then Nurse Hamda put her hand on my shoulder and said, "You are a strong mother. You love your children very much, and you will do anything to stay strong and close to them. For their sake, you are a capable person, and you will overcome the pain of the biopsy." Indeed, after Nurse Hamda's kindness and skill in convincing me, a biopsy was performed, and the result confirmed the presence of cancerous cells (leukemia). Hamda comforted me and told me true stories about one of her friends who recovered from this malignant disease. I will never forget Nurse Hamda's favor to this day for convincing me in the first situation and helping me when I wanted help or asked some questions. She answered me at any time possible, even if she was on vacation. I am grateful for her communication with my mother and for reassuring her about my condition. I was in good health when I felt tired and feverish after receiving the doses, and I was unable to communicate with my mother.
The word "thank you" will not do justice to that nurse, whether in terms of treatment, style, respect, love, and care for patients. There are people whom God sends as blessings and gifts and makes them available to you. Many thanks to Nurse Hamda, and I wish her continued success and prosperity in her work.
