It was obvious Hannah loves her job and is passionate about caring for postpartum moms and their babies!
My name is Kassandra Den Hartog, I delivered my baby boy and spent two nights in the hospital. Both nights I was lovingly cared for by Hannah RN on the postpartum unit. I’d like to nominate Hannah for the DAISY Award because her compassion and kind heart were unlike anything I’ve ever experienced with a nurse.

During my hospital stay, I got very emotional and anxious when my husband had to leave for the night, and I was really missing my older son. I remember crying and not being able to sleep but I wasn’t planning on speaking up. Hannah walked in at the height of my panic attack without knowing I was feeling this way which makes me believe God sent her to my room to check on me when she did. I opened up to her feeling like I probably looked like a crazy lady, but she comforted me and was such a light in what was a very dark scary moment for me. I remember feeling so much better after talking to her and I felt heard and seen. I never felt she was rushed to leave or too busy rather she made me feel like I was her only patient and she did not leave my room until she was sure I was okay.

I am an RN too and I understand how busy and demanding the job can be. Most importantly I understand how hard it is to come across nurses like this and I would really like to recognize this gem of a nurse. It was obvious Hannah loves her job and is passionate about caring for postpartum moms and their babies! Her care left a lasting impression on me, and I’ll remember her forever with a grateful heart!
