The first nomination came from a patient's wife who states, Hannah is an extraordinary nurse. Her husband spent 3 weeks at the VA and, "Hannah's smile and concern helped through the long hard days. Hannah listened when we were upset and needed to know what was going on, she was able to explain in a way that we could understand. As busy as she was she always made time for me as a family member and my husband as a patient, she has chosen the right profession."
While in the hospital the patient celebrated a birthday, Hannah made a special trip to get him a cupcake made with ingredients that complied with his special diet and delivered it to him on a day that she wasn't even working.
"I will never forget his special smile and the joy on his face as he actually got to eat the cupcake."
***
"I really don't know how to start telling about the wonderful young lady and exceptional nurse." He states when he was admitted Hannah was the first to walk through his door with a beautiful smile and friendly hello. He writes that Hannah has a great bedside manner and continuously went over his procedures and explained things in a way he could understand; "this helped take away my anxiety, made me comfortable and relaxed."
This Veteran states that "Hannah should be in charge of the new nurses on how to treat patients, they could learn a lot from her." He finishes by saying that the "whole Red Team treated me very well, that is one good team!" Congratulations Hannah!
