We have had many incredible nurses during our stay at Children’s Wisconsin, but we were fortunate to have one for an extended period who made us feel at home and helped bring life back into our son due to her exceptional care and dedication to our Baby, T. From the moment Baby T arrived in her care, Hannah has gone above and beyond to ensure Baby T’s needs are met with the utmost compassion and skill. Her attention to detail, gentle demeanor, and willingness to go above and beyond have made an enormous difference in our family’s experience at Children’s Wisconsin.
We had a very difficult first week with Baby T in the NICU, with little time to breathe and non-stop 24/7 updates. After arriving in the cardio IC with Hannah, our family has had a chance to breathe and feel at peace. She doesn’t just provide medical care; she treats kids like they're her own, providing parents with reassurance to step away to take care of themselves for a moment.
Hannah actively sought out our family’s questions to ensure we understood Baby T’s current status and path moving forward, spent well over 1 hour cleaning the goop off his scalp after monitoring probes were removed followed by a hair wash and his first handsome hairdo, always kept his eyes covered with our cloth hearts to comfort him and avoid stimulating light from disturbing him.
Hannah’s commitment shines through in every interaction, whether it’s her proactive approach to Baby T’s treatment or the way she anticipates our questions before we even ask. Baby T arrived in the cardio ICU hanging on by a thread, and just days later, Baby T is making significant strides on his path to recovery – we can’t help but think Hannah played a pivotal role in giving life back to our son.
