Hannah took care of a 10-year-old boy recently who was brought to the ER with a dog bite. This little boy had to go to surgery and was later admitted. He really bonded with Hannah and wanted her involved in all of his care. After surgery, he asked for Hannah, and she did not hesitate to go up and check on him. Hannah continued to take time out of her busy shifts to visit him while he was in the hospital. He constantly asked his nurses to call Hannah so he could speak with her. During her visits, Hannah learned that this young patient of only 10 years faces many challenges in his life, which has resulted in an unstable home. However, despite the hardships, this young boy is polite, leaving an impression on Hannah. Hannah's visits, friendship, and support made what could have been a frightening experience of being in the hospital, a better experience overall. I am sure she made an impact on this young boy's life. Hannah's concern and compassion for this child truly exemplify the care and compassion of a DAISY Nurse.
