Hannah provided exquisite care during my ICU stay. I met Hannah on an awful morning after I lost my 24-week gestation baby due to a placenta abruption. I went into Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation (DIC) in the OR during the emergent delivery the night before, received multiple blood products, and was transferred to the ICU. The freshness of my loss was overwhelming at times the following morning; nothing anyone would happily want to walk into, or much less take care of as a patient. Hannah's comfort and sensitivity to my loss and validation of my emotions was a salve to my soul. Her kind words and even just listening and helping me understand what had happened were just what I needed. She was so genuine and kind in her interactions with me. I am grateful to have had Hannah as my nurse as she went above and beyond to make sure I felt not only well cared for physically, but also emotionally; something that was genuine and authentic, never forced. She made the effort to truly spend the time with me when I needed to cry and process my situation.
