It is not uncommon to see Hannah go above and beyond for her patients, but this particular situation left the ICU in complete awe. A patient was requesting to go home on hospice. His wish was to be home with his family in the time he had left. The challenge in getting the patient home was a lack of transportation and a special wheelchair. Hannah recognized this need and went to extraordinary lengths to help this patient and his family.

Hannah's husband is in a wheelchair but also drives Uber. She arranged for her husband to bring his wheelchair for the patient to borrow and for her husband to drive the patient home in a vehicle designed to accommodate the wheelchair. The patient was able to be in the comfort of his home within a short amount of time due to Hannah and her husband's help.

Hannah is absolutely immeasurable. Hannah showed the compassion of nursing. Her actions and passion are what nursing is. The impact felt within the ICU was so heartfelt, so moving, and so Hannah. Hannah is truly the epitome of what the DAISY Award represents, an extraordinary nurse with compassionate care.
