Hannah joined the children safeguarding team 18 months ago and in that space of time has made an immeasurable difference to the team, service, and the children we see. Hannah always has a calm, sensitive manner when dealing with highly sensitive issues relating to child protection and has supported staff in their knowledge and education surrounding children’s safeguarding practices in an emotionally sensitive way.

The staff has shared how much they have valued Hannah’s approachability, support, and guidance throughout these cases. Hannah has a passion and skill for identifying processes that could be improved and has worked collaboratively with clinicians on a number of projects, including improving the child death liaison process and children who are not brought to their appointment. These projects are helping create more time-efficient and child-focused ways to support the identification of needs for children and creating more holistic and individual plans - with a firm focus, on what works for clinicians; how can we make this easier and improve identification and response.

Hannah is a dedicated, hard-working member of my team and I want to ensure this hard work and recognition is shared with her. I’m so proud of the work she does and the huge contribution she has to our service and the children we see. This role can be incredibly emotionally challenging and demanding - but Hannah’s true leadership, compassion, and calm manner; are helping improve safeguarding children practice throughout our trust.
