Hannah K Bullard, RN
Hannah was our nurse on the day our son was born, and from the very beginning of my care, she was thoughtful, informative, kind, and deeply empathetic. She had an incredible ability to keep both my husband and me calm throughout the day, but she truly went above and beyond when unexpected complications arose during my labor.
As my contractions intensified and we made the decision to proceed with an epidural, Hannah stayed right by my side. The process took longer and required more attempts than we had anticipated, and through each painful contraction, she helped me stay grounded and as calm as possible. Afterward, she continued to be proactive in my care, helping me move and change positions to ensure my labor continued progressing. Hannah truly became my superhero and advocate when I suddenly spiked a fever, and it became clear I had developed an infection. She acted quickly and confidently, starting IV antibiotics, working diligently to bring my fever down, and keeping constant communication with both my doctor and us. Even in such a scary and overwhelming moment, she managed to keep us informed and as calm as possible.
When I told Hannah that I wanted to move forward with a C-section to protect both myself and my son, she listened without hesitation. She advocated for me and helped ensure I received the care I both wanted and needed. She remained by my side in the operating room, continuously checking in on me and my husband, offering reassurance every step of the way.
What meant the most to me was that Hannah stayed beyond the end of her shift just to make sure I was safely back in my room and so she could meet our son. That level of compassion and dedication is something I will never forget. I truly don’t know what I would have done without her by my side, and I am endlessly grateful that she was my nurse during one of the most important moments of my life.
