August 2023 Honoree
Hannah Katt, RN
I was so overwhelmed. We were asked to care and give love to a patient brought into the ED. I was told she was brought into the ED with multiple bone-deep wounds, stuck to her blanket. She was also in her feces for a long period. The ED got the wounds cleaned up, but she was being sent up to us with no orders for wound care. This was going to be a very overwhelming case. I asked the charge nurse if she would please call down to Wound Care and see if anyone was still there on a Saturday at 5:30 pm! Luckily Hannah was still in the building. She stayed longer than she was supposed to, to help dress the wounds. Taking care of those wounds made this overwhelming situation manageable.
Thank you, Hannah, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
