My father, a kind man, was admitted to York Hospital with flu, a 104-degree fever, and altered mental status after 10 days of discomfort at home.

From the moment Hannah became his primary nurse, she transformed a potentially cold experience into one filled with warmth, dignity, and genuine care, making it the most pleasant hospital stay imaginable. Hannah showed an unwavering positive attitude and proved herself a dependable, trustworthy team member who went above and beyond. When Dad asked for a milkshake, she offered to make one with ice cream and milk. 

Her genuine enthusiasm every time she entered the room gave our family peace of mind knowing he was in the best hands. Hannah’s outgoing character promoted healing in the most heartfelt way. Her incredible ability to brighten the room every time she entered lifted everyone’s spirits. Hannah delivered outstanding customer service by honoring WellSpan York Hospital’s values, mission, and vision. She anticipated needs, arranging meals, welcoming visitors with extra chairs, updating schedules for his sleep, and minimizing disruptions. 

Her actions made Dad feel truly valued as a person, not just a patient. Hannah provided a warm, inviting experience with deep compassion and responsiveness. She listened patiently despite his partial deafness and poured her heart into his care. 

Thanks to her, Dad left physically improved and with renewed hope. She is the epitome of what the award honors, an exceptional care team member whose impact will stay with our family forever. Hannah deserves this recognition more than anyone.
