I meet Ms. Hannah the day my father was admitted to Grandview Hospital. Immediately meeting her she introduced herself and who she was and the care she would be giving my father. She explained everything she did for him while I was in the SICU waiting area. How she connected all his tubes and machines. How his vitals were. What meds he was on and what the next step would be. She talked to my dad like he was awake - they had him on meds to relax him from the tubes down his throat. I was very scared, sad, nervous and anxious because I've never seen my father like this, but Ms. Hannah made me feel at ease and told me he's okay and that he would have good care. Today is my dad's birthday. Ms. Hannah told him Happy Birthday and squeezed his hand. I watched Ms. Hannah clean out my dad's mouth, so it wouldn't be dry and cracked. I've been in and out of the hospital since my father arrived. I couldn't wait for Ms. Hannah's shift to start. My father had to spend his 64th birthday in the hospital and is sedated because of the tubes. I'm okay with that because he is in a good place around caring people to get the care he needs. Ms. Hannah went above and beyond her job answering our questions and making my dad as comfortable as possible. Thanks, Ms. Hannah for the extraordinary care.
