The DAISY-In-Training Award is presented to a NKU student who has demonstrated the values of caring, professionalism, respect, integrity and excellence. This year 's recipient is Hannah Myers Simms. Hannah is currently working at St Elizabeth Edgewood on 3C as a Nurse Extern. She is involved in the Unit Based Decision Team on her floor. This committee initiates change and evidence based practice on her unit. Hannah also represents 3C at St. Elizabeth Healthcare's Wound Care Council. Hannah 's role transition has been in the ICU at St Elizabeth Healthcare in Florence. Hannah is passionate about critical care nursing and after graduation plans to pursue a career in that field around the Cincinnati area. While at NKU, Hannah has been involved in the Student Nurses Association on campus and was an Ambassador for the College of Health Professions. Hannah was nominated by a previous clinical instructor. Hannah 's clinical instructor described her as "caring, engaging, and always positive with all of her patients. Her instructor also wrote that she "was impressed with the speed Hannah grasped complex issues, asked pertinent questions, and how she applied this knowledge to the evolving clinical situation. Hannah worked hard to improve her practice to deliver the best care to all her patients each week. Hannah will be an asset to our profession." In December, Hannah was also selected to be the student speaker for NKU 's Commencement Ceremony. Congratulations Hannah for all your many accomplishments.
