Hannah N Johnson, RN
My husband and I have twin baby girls in the NICU.
We were visiting family in Lawrence, Kansas, for our baby shower when I unexpectedly had an emergency C-section at 28 weeks. Our girls were then flown to Overland Park Regional, where they received care in the NICU for the next couple of months as they continued to heal and grow. They are now almost 32 weeks.
Hannah was one of the very first nurses to care for our girls, specifically one of the twins, while she was on a high-frequency oscillator. She has also been battling a grade 3 brain bleed, but she continues to show progress every single day.
From the moment we were introduced to Hannah, we were comforted by her presence and the way she cares for our daughters. She consistently works with confidence, grace, and kindness. We always have a million questions, and she takes the time to answer each one thoughtfully or connects us with someone who can. She greets us with a smile and checks in on us, even when she is not assigned to our girls that day.
The past month has been incredibly scary, but knowing our daughters are in the care of someone like Hannah gives us faith that they will continue to flourish. She deserves all the praise and recognition for the incredible nurse she is.
