My patient was having a panic attack at the start of treatment so I notified my RN, Hannah, she immediately came to the patient and held his hand while instructing me to grab an oxygen concentrator. She kneeled on the floor the entire time and talked him through his anxieties, he was scared and felt like he was dying in that moment, but she reasoned with him and assured him that "we are here for you, and we will get through this together." This was on Christmas Eve so it was clearly tough on this patient to feel like he couldn't make it to see his family. The patient was able to recover and complete treatment, but I was in awe of how she handled the situation. Hannah always shows the utmost respect and compassion to everyone she encounters and is a ray of sunshine in our clinic.
