Hannah was my night nurse in the ICU. I came from Arkansas with complications, waiting on a liver transplant.

From the first night, she would come in at the beginning of her shift to check on me and just talk. She knew I was nervous and just needed someone. She never got annoyed or rushed me. She answered all my questions, and I had a lot. She knew I needed to know what was going on before it happened.

The night I found out I was going to receive my new liver, she was the one who told me. She was so excited! From that point on, she stayed with me, preparing me for what was going to happen. She went above and beyond when she offered to French-braid my hair. She spoke in a calm voice, which helped me stay calm.

She is one of the best nurses I've ever had. She cares, and it shows.
