The entire time, she made sure to keep deep eye contact with me, talking to me to keep me calm.
I had complications after a major abdominal Surgery. Hannah is a nurse with wound care, and my Surgeon asked her to come and pack my wound. Upon packing my wound, a blood vessel ruptured, and all I remember is being surrounded by 20-plus nurses and every one of them was in panic mode, which in turn obviously made me aware how bad of a position I was in. I remember telling them I'm a single parent of a son who needs me and I can't die. Hannah, in the midst of it all, non-hesitant, hopped on top of my bed amidst all the blood and chaos, holding pressure to my abdomen while being raced down to the operating room. The entire time, she made sure to keep deep eye contact with me, talking to me to keep me calm. I remember she asked me about my faith when I told her I was a Christian. She began praying out loud for me. She made all the difference in my head's pace during the scariest time in my 47 years of life. There is so much more I could tell you, she did, but I'm still in the hospital and it's just so much to type. I cannot think of anyone more deserving than Hannah for this award. Please, please show her this recognition. I have a whole new view on life from this experience, and I just can't express how grateful I am to her and anyone else involved.
